Every music video has a unique style and follows different conventions. Today we are going to explore some of the styles of music videos that are widely published on platforms such as Youtube. We will cover areas such as Animation and CGI, surreal music videos, parodies and more to gain insight into the music industry.
Eminem-We made you
In this music video we see lots of scenes where Eminem is clearly parodying a lot of icons in the pop culture such as Elvis Presley and Star Trek. As well as parodies Eminem manages to use some CGI effects in this music video with a scene where Eminem is driving in a car before it turns into a huge robot like what you would see in a Transformers movie. On top of all of this, Eminem is able to show his Lyricist skills of making each word seamlessly fit to every beat of the song perfectly, giving the audience a much more immersive experience

Eminem-Headlights
The most shocking song of Eminem’s career is actually a tribute to his mother. On “Headlights,” from Eminem’s “MMLP2” album, the rapper offers a mature, sincere apology to his mom, Debbie Mathers, from whom he remains estranged. The title “Headlights” refers to their last meeting. As she drove away, he became fixated on the headlights of her car as he coped with feelings of “overwhelming sadness,” he raps. As the lyrics continues, the Detroit rapper apologises for dissing his mother in songs like 2002’s “Cleanin’ Out My Closet” in which he called her a “selfish bitch” he hoped would “burn in hell.” In 1999, Debbie filed a $10 million lawsuit against Eminem, accusing him of slander and settled for $25,000 in 2001. “I went in headfirst, never thinking about who what I said hurt … My mom probably got it the worst,” he raps in his opening lyrics. In the music video Eminem is shown driving after his mother, ultimately looking to meet up with her in the end, providing a sweet narrative to the video and settling the feud between them finally.
Eminem-Venom music video
In this music video Eminem promotes the film Venom by using CGI effects on a CD that a stranger finds on the street and it seems as if Symbiotes are in the disc and as the stranger listens to it they seem as if they are being overtaken by the symbiote and this makes the audience intrigued in what the film will actually involve. You see as the stranger infected wit the symbiote makes contact with another stranger that it gets passed on and Eminem's face appears over theirs for a short period of time as if eminem's music is what is infectious. of course, this use of flash CGI is going to engage the audience even more so, making them want to see the movie which is an example of influence of commercials, the purpose of this specific music video.

The song is about the daughters and niece of Eminem who is considered as his daughter too. This song is about how the life of the daughters has gotten to where it is, how everything has impacted where they are. This song is directly straight towards his daughters about how much he loves them and he puts them above everyone. He explains about Kim and how shes always in the news and trouble how their mother is not making it easy on them, its not what he wanted and how its not what they planned.
Eminem explains various times in the song how he is doing all he can to make sure that they do not go through what he did, and the life he did not have. He explains how he can not always be there, and how they should stay strong and keep their heads up. He explains how he cannot be with their mother anymore due to various reasons and how its life and things happen but he loves them no matter what.
Moving on, the song is a narrative video, it has various segments of Eminem and his daughters and even Kim. The song keeps pushing forward with various clips of Eminem’s daughters as they link in with the lyrics, the video is one big montage that Eminem has cleverly put together to give a memory feel to the video. This video was made by Eminem for his daughters to remind them of their past and what has happened and why.
