Music videos of this generation are mainly watched on youtube, due to technology advancing rapidly and being introduced to us at younger ages it is only common sense that the most amount of consumers are going to want to access them easily and practically anywhere.
It was not always this way however as youtube, though it may be successful now, reaching "more 18-49 year olds" on mobile alone "than any broadcast or TV network." Music videos were made way before youtube came about. Supposedly, according to the website "http://matheussiqueira.com/a-brief-history-of-music-video/" The Spooney Melodey series were the first to introduce the concept of short-films mixing live-action footage of the performer. It was shown at the movie theaters before the main presentations. So now you didn’t actually need to see a full feature talkie to here music and sound, you could see the performer playing in quick segments of a music! Magic!
